What the analyzer looks for in your document

Deterministic detection, deliberately. A missed pass/fail clause is a disqualification, so that layer does not depend on a language model guessing.

Obligation language

Shall, must, is required to, mandatory, will be rejected, condition of participation, failure to provide, minimum requirement — plus instruction verbs like provide, describe, submit, demonstrate and confirm.

Requested evidence

Certifications and ISO standards, licences, insurances, bonds and guarantees, audited accounts, tax clearance, registrations, CVs, references, method statements, policies and declarations.

Dates and timings

Numeric and written date formats with their surrounding context, so a submission deadline reads differently from a contract start. Ambiguous day/month formats are flagged rather than guessed.

Eligibility gates

Pre-qualification criteria, minimum turnover, years of experience, registration requirements, local presence conditions and stated grounds for exclusion.

Commercial review flags

Unlimited liability, liquidated damages, indemnities, bid and performance bonds, retention, termination for convenience, IP ownership, data residency, warranty periods and payment terms.

Submission rules

Page and word limits, formatting instructions, file naming conventions, required formats, number of copies, portal versus email, signature and stamping requirements.

What it is not. The browser analyzer is a short preview, not the product. It shows you the headline counts and three example requirements. It does not give you the full requirement list, does not build a compliance matrix, does not know what your company can prove, does not draft responses and does not tell you whether you will win. It tells you how much is in the document so you can decide what to do next.

Why this matters

Why the file never leaves your browser

A tender pack usually arrives with confidentiality obligations attached, often before you have decided whether to bid at all. That makes the ordinary free-tool bargain — upload your document to a stranger's server in exchange for a result — a bad trade for exactly the people who most need the result.

So the analyzer does not make that trade. The parsing, the clause detection, the date extraction and the counting all happen in JavaScript running on your machine. There is no request carrying your document anywhere, which you can verify yourself: open your browser's network tab and run an analysis.

The practical consequence is that you can evaluate the tool on a live confidential tender today, without a data processing agreement, a security review or a procurement conversation first.

Free tender analyzer: common questions

Is the free tender analyzer really free?

Yes. There is no account, no email capture and no credit card. The analysis runs in your own browser, so there is no server cost per analysis to recover and no reason to gate it.

Does my tender document get uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read from your disk by the browser, parsed in memory and discarded when you close the tab. No copy is sent to TenderOS, to a model provider or to any third party, and nothing is stored or logged.

Which file types does it accept?

Pasted text, TXT, DOCX and text-based PDF. Scanned image-only PDFs contain no text layer and need optical character recognition, which is part of the paid processing pipeline rather than the browser tool. Some PDFs use embedded font encodings the browser cannot decode; in that case the tool says so and asks you to paste the text.

How does it decide what counts as a requirement?

It reads the document clause by clause and looks for obligation language — shall, must, is required to, mandatory, will be rejected, failure to provide — alongside instruction verbs such as provide, describe, submit, demonstrate and confirm. Mandatory detection uses deterministic rules rather than a language model, because a missed pass/fail clause is a disqualification.

Are the numbers real or a demo?

They are counted from your text. Every figure on the results screen — requirement statements, mandatory items, document categories, dates, review flags — comes from the document you provided. There is no demo dataset behind the free tool. A clearly labelled fictional tender is available if you want to see the output format before using a real document.

How much does the free preview actually show?

Deliberately little. It gives you four numbers — pages, words, requirement statements and mandatory items — plus three example requirements, and it counts the requested documents, dates and flagged commercial clauses without listing them. That is enough to prove the extraction is real on your own document and to make the bid decision. It is not a smaller version of the product.
